Kim Cass, "Kim Cass"

“We think we have to talk about aesthetic judgements like ‘This is beautiful,’ but we find that if we have to talk about aesthetic judgements we don’t find these words at all, but a word used something like a gesture, accompanying a complicated activity.”
“In what we call the Arts a person who has judgement develops … We distinguish between a person who knows what he is talking about and a person who doesn’t.”
          Wittgenstein

You won’t generally find record reviews here. But since most of the jazz gabbers still haven’t got around to mentioning it, I'd like at least to repost my Twitter commentary:

In terms of instrumental, compositional, and conceptual virtuosity, the new record from bassist Kim Cass has in my view broken new ground. Buy it.
